Happy Friday, everyone!! How can this be the last weekend in August?? Sheesh, Christmas will be here before we know it...so I have a Christmas tag to share with you today. It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog HERE and I'm using one of the gorgeous dies from the latest Christmas in July release.

The papers for this tag are from My Mind's Eye Victorian Christmas stack. The edges were distressed and then inked with Tim Holtz Walnut Distress Ink. The Whispers Delicate Deer die was cut first in cardboard so it would have some dimension, then black cardstock and brown cardstock.

The Merry Christmas Sweet Wordlet was covered with Sparkle N Sprinkle Fire Engine Red glitter. It was also cut in black for a shadow effect. The trees on the bottom are from the Whispers Mountain Village Border. They were covered with SNS Victorian Christmas glitter.

It's going to be super-busy on my blog next week!! I'm so excited to be guest designing for the newest My Craft Spot release and you aren't going to want to miss it!! The new stamps and dies are amazing!!

Each day you will get a sneak peek at one of 5 new stamp sets, plus 4 sets of metal dies!! There will be lots of fun Halloween and Fall projects and ideas to share with you. You won't want to miss it!!

I created a mixed media canvas for my project today. I loved the July Tim Holtz tag so I wanted a look similar to that. Wendy Vecchi Translucent Embossing Paste was applied through a TH Bubbles Stencil for some texture. The fish are a from a punch I've had forever. They were covered with Glossy Accents.

Sea Sallie, the beautiful mermaid is a Prima Julie Nutting Doll stamp. Her hair and skin were colored with Prismacolor Pencils. A Rubber Stampede Crackle-Background stamp was used on her tail. It was then covered with Glossy Accents, as was the TH Seahorse die. The sea grasses are from the TH Spring Greenery die. The starfish and shells are from my stash. They were covered with Ranger Antiquities Verdigris Embossing Powder. Cork paper was used for the bottom of the ocean.

The sentiment is from the awesome Capture The Good Times stamp set. It was heat embossed with Veridgris and the edges were inked with Gathered Twigs Distress Ink.

Wish

This is my second post of the day. For my Die-Versions post, click HERE.

I have one more Spellbinders A Gilded Life project to share with you. For this necklace, I used the Spellbinders A Gilded Life Crown Bezel. Spellbinders A Gilded Life Crown Circle dies were used to cut the paper for the background and then a smaller piece of Spellbinders Media Mixage Iridescent Translucents. A Spellbinders Standard Circles Small die was used for the inside circle. Wish is from JustRite Stamps Grateful Hearts Vintage Labels 2 stamp set. Gems were added and then the bezel was filled in with Glossy Accents. Once it dried, more gems were added to the outside.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Spellbinders A Gilded Life Contest
  2. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Anything Goes
  3. DL.Art - August Linky

Die-Versions Holiday Icon Ornaments

Happy Friday, everyone!! It's my turn to post on the Die-Versions blog HERE. I'm featuring dies from the latest Christmas in July release.

I love the Holiday Icon Ornaments dies from this release. Like their name, they make perfect ornaments for the Christmas tree. So I created a few different ornaments to share with you.

First I cut them in cardboard so they would have some weight and then cut two more layers in double sided sticky tape for each side. If you joined us for our hop last week, you saw the amazing projects that were created by combining Die-Versions dies with Sparkle N Sprinkle Glitters and Embossing Powders. I use the awesome SNS glitter for the ornaments. To get the two different colors on some of the ornaments, I just removed the sticky tape covering the icon, coated it with glitter, and then removed the outside border and added a different color.

I also created 3 dimensional ornaments by cutting four layers of the dies, scoring them in half and attaching them together.

On a couple of the images like the reindeer, one of the layers had to be cut with the designer paper up so that it would align with they were glued together (if that makes sense!!).

Thanks so much for stopping by!! :)

Here is my sneak peek project ....

For my project, I made a camera-themed canvas, using stamps from the awesome new CDD Capture the Good Times stamp set and lots of Tim Holtz products. The background canvas was covered with paper from TH. The four panels were covered with a mixture of Tea Dye, Antique Linen and Walnut Stain Distress Inks. TH stencils were used as well.

Life is Like a Camera was stamped on a Spellbinders Snapshot die. It was heat embossed with black and white embossing powder and covered with Glossy Accents.

Focus On What's Important was also heat embossed.

Capture the Good Times was stamped on a Spellbinders Postage Stamp die and heat embossed.

Develop from the negatives was also heat embossed. The two cameras are also from the CDD Capture the Good Times stamp set.

And the final sentiment was also heat embossed. I just love this phrase and wanted to create something to tie all of the sentiments together :)

Hope

This is my second post of the day. For the Decorate to Celebrate post, click HERE.

Today I have a home decor project to share with you. I started with a piece of pink vellum and adhered tulle and sequin ribbon. I then cut two Spellbinders A Gilded Life Rose Medallion Dies in pink vellum and one in Spellbinders Media Mixage Iridescent Translucents in pearl and attached it to the candle.

The pendant is a Spellbinders A Gilded Life Love Wings and I just snipped off the top ring. I used a technique on the background that I saw on a blog and thought it looked awesome, but now I can't remember where I saw it. So I would love to give credit to whoever came up with the idea. I stamped it with Versamark and then heat embossed it with Stampendous Vintage Embossing Powder. I used a Spellbinders A Gilded Life Heart Die to cut another piece of Media Mixage Iridescent Translucents. Hope is from JustRite Stamps Grateful Hearts Vintage Labels 2, and it was heat embossed with gold embossing powder. The heart was then applied to the pendant with Glossy Accents, which were also added to the wings and crown. Sugar Coating was added to the wings and crown while the Glossy Accents was still wet.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

  1. Spellbinders A Gilded Life Contest
  2. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Anything Goes
  3. DL.Art - August Linky

Love

Happy Tuesday!! I hope you are having a wonderful week!! Another month that is just flying by.  I have a card to share with  you today using several Spellbinders products.

The base of the card is Neenah Solar White cardstock and the next layer is pink vellum. The edges were distressed with a Zutter DIA. The next layer was created with a Spellbinders A Gilded Life Rose Medallion Die. I cut several of the dies and adhered them to a cardstock that had been covered with a double-sided sheet of adhesive. I then adhered the Rose Medallion dies, staggering the design each line. Since the background was sticky and there were spaces in between, I covered the sheet with Doodlebug Sugar Coating so that it glitters. I then lightly brushed Spun Sugar Distress Ink over the top. The button on top of the ribbon is a Spellbinders Pagemaps Whimsy die.

A Spellbinders Gold Labels Four was cut with Neenah cardstock and adhered with foam tape for dimension. Another Gold Labels Four was cut in pink vellum and attached on top, followed by white tulle that was also cut with the Gold Labels Four.

For the focal point, I used a Spellbinders A Gilded Life Large Heart Bezel. I sanded it quite a bit to remove most of the color and then covered it with white acrylic paint. Once the paint dried, I added crackle medium. Once that dried, I covered it with Raw Sienna and Burnt Umber acrylic paint, wiping most of it off, leaving it in the cracks to accentuate them. For the inside of the bezel, I used a Spellbinders A Gilded Life Heart Die to cut a piece of Spellbinders Media Mixage Iridescent Translucents in pearl. Love is from JustRite Stamps Grateful Hearts Vintage Labels 2 stamp set. It was heat embossed with silver embossing powder. The bezels come with a clear plastic top, so I added some iridescent sequins inside and adhered the cover with Glossy Accents. Gems were added to the top.

The butterfly is a Spellbinders Jewel Flowers and Flourish die. It was covered with Sugar Coating.

The flowers are Spellbinders Rose Creations dies. A touch of Spun Sugar Distress Ink was added to the edges, as well as some Sugar Coating. The leaves were cut in pink vellum and inked with Spun Sugar.

I am entering this in the following challenges:
  1. Spellbinders A Gilded Life Contest
  2. Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge - Anything Goes
  3. DL.Art - August Linky
  4. Little Scrap Pieces - Show it Off Saturday
  5. PDE Linky Party #17 - Metal Dies or Punches
I have a couple more projects for the Spellbinders A Gilded Life Contest that I will post in the next couple of days. Thanks so much for stopping by!! :)

Die-Versions/Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog Hop

Welcome to the Die-Versions and Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog Hop!!

The joint blog hop with Die-Versions and Sparkle N Sprinkle begins today (7am EST) and goes until Aug. 17th (5pm EST), so there will be plenty of time to check out all the great projects created by both teams. The theme is Christmas, so you'll get lots of great inspiration for your upcoming Holiday cards.

Die-Versions manufactures low profile dies made right here in the United States and Sparkle N Sprinkle manufactures rubber stamps, glitters, embossing powders, and flocking, also made in the US. This is like a match made in heaven - low profile dies combined with lots of bling!! Doesn't get much better than that.

One winner will receive a Grand Prize consisting of a $50 gift certificate from Die-Versions and a $50 gift certificate from Sparkle N Sprinkle, for a total of $100. The winner will be announced on Aug 17th on both the DV Blog and the SNS Blog as well as their Facebook pages.

In order to be eligible for the Grand Prize, please:
  • Leave a comment on each Designer's blog
  • Follow both companies on Facebook (DV Facebook page; SNS Facebook page) if you haven't already so you can keep up to date on all the latest goings on. (I'm sure that all of the Designers would love for you to Follow them too, but that isn't a requirement to win this prize.)
You should have arrived here from the Die-Versions Blog. If not, you will want to start there and end at the Sparkle N Sprinkle Blog. If you get lost along the way, you can go to either the DV Blog or the SNS Blog to see the complete list of participants.

We'd love it if you'd like to leave a comment at either the DV Blog or the SNS Blog telling us which projects were your favorites. :-)

I created two projects for today's hop!!

For the first card, I used the new Whispers Merry Christmas Script die. It was covered with Sparkle N Sprinkle Winter Berry Embossing Powder. Sparkle N Sprinkle's glitters and embossing powders are the best I've ever used!! I absolutely love the coverage and the colors!!

The trees in the background are a SNS Pine Forest stamp. It was heat embossed with SNS Frosted Juniper Embossing Powder and then outlined in SNS Winter White Embossing Powder for snow. The brads were glittered with SNS Silver Dreams Glitter. The button in the center of the bow is a Die-Versions Wee Petites Button Die. It was covered with SNS Victorian Christmas Glitter.

For my second card, I created a winter scene using the Die-Versions Shapes Build An Owl die. The clouds were sponged with Stormy Sky Distress Ink. Peace on Earth is a Die-Versions Sweet Wordlet die. It was cut twice, once in black for a shadow and then the second cut was covered with SNS Fire Engine Red Glitter. I used the SNS Pine Forest stamp again - I just love it!! It was heat embossed with SNS Frosted Juniper EP. It's tough to see in the pictures, but I used Ranger Perfect Medium and covered the snow on the bottom of the card with SNS Cloud Nine Microfine Velvet Glitter.

The adorable owl isn't just a decoration...he's also an ornament!! He was velcroed to the front of the card for easy removal. His tree was covered with SNS Victorian Christmas Glitter. The star on top was covered with SNS Silver Dreams Glitter. His eyes were covered with Glossy Accents.

Your next stop on the blog hop is the sweet and talented Patti. We hope you enjoy this blog hop and it gives you lots of inspiration!! Don't forget to leave each of us a comment and follow both Die-Versions and Sparkle N Sprinkle on Facebook.
